Back Story:

Born as one the amazons on paradise island, Lyra was trained her entire life to be a warrior.  She was taught honor, love and respect for all life.  However, even at a young age, she questioned the wisdom of the gods and their teachings as to if Amazons were truly superior to mankind, why should they protect them?  To fight for them?  To be asked to die for such imperfect beings.  Over time, Lyra learned to silence herself and hold her tongue but those questions lingered still.  She had done such a good job of covering her true feelings about the "divine purpose" of the Amazons, she made her ways up the ranks of the Queen's elite guard and cause the eye of one of the Queen's most trusted senators, the favored Peleta.  She kept her true feelings buried deep inside her she started to thing she really was becoming to believe the hollow words she echoed daily.  The love of the intelligent, beautiful, and wise Peleta numbed any doubts she had from time to time.  She found her own personal version of paradise on Paradise Island.  A paradise she clung to with both hands for years.

As time wore on, Lyra's deep convictions were tested over and over.  Often she let her true feelings slip which caused several fights between her and Peleta, who urged her each time to never let anyone else know how she felt regarding the purpose of the Amazons and especially her feelings on the Queen's plans.  At a gathering where the Queen announced to all the Amazons of the island of the gods that the time had come for the amazons to start taking a more active role as "protectors and servants" of mankind.  The longer the speech drug on, the more uncomfortable Lyra became.  Shifting oh so slightly from side to side while standing at her honor guard position.  She cut her eyes over to Peleta who was staring at her giving a slightly concerned look, with a subtly raised finger pleading with Lyra to stay herself, which just made Lyra even more frustrated.   Having heard more than enough, Lyra stepped out of her guard post and started openly arguing with the Queen while simultaneously preaching to all her sisters about the folly in the Queen's logic and even their supposed "purpose".  Almost no one paid her any heed, however the senators and the queen noticed a few faces in the crowds starting to show sympathy towards Lyra's outbursts.  Hearing enough, the Queen gestured to her guard captain to arrest Lyra who quickly resisted.  The struggling quickly turned to sparring and soon devolved into an all-out brawl and Lyra was getting the upper hand fast.  The guard captain unsheathed her sword and moved closer, seeing the sun shine off the blade, Lyra dodged to her left allowing the thrust to barely miss her, but instead plunge into the abdomen of the guard behind her causing the guard to drop to a knee wounded but not dead.  Lyra then drew her own sword and the other guards did in kind.  While Lyra was one of the best hand to hand combatants the Amazon's had seen in ages, her blade mastery was indeed lacking - more brute force than finesse.  A lacking the guards quickly took advantage of.  Feeling the ranks close in all around her, Lyra felt a presence behind her and a hand grab her shoulder.  She turned the blade backwards and thrust the blade with all her might with the full intention of killing whomever was about to arrest her.  She would not allow herself to be taken captive for the rest of her life.  The crowds gasped as they saw nearly the full length of the blade covered in blood protrude from the back of Senator Peleta.  Even a couple of the guards in front of Lyra stammered back a couple feet.  Until that day, no Amazon had ever killed another.  Lyra was the only one unaware of whom exactly she had just slain until she felt a bloody hand caress her face.  She turned to see tear filled eyes and a surprisingly loving smile on Peleta's flushed face.  Lyra's own eyes quickly filled with tears and she started repeating "No, no, no" over and over again.  She cradled Peleta's limp body in her arms and placed her forehead against her lover's and gave her one final kiss.  The entire world was muted and drowned out by her own racing heart beat as she squeezed Peleta's completely limp body and rocked her slowly, muttering incoherently as she did so.  Then she heard something.  The shuffle of armored feet behind her.

Lyra gently placed Peleta down on the ground and pulled a handwoven neck scarf off her from around her neck and held it tightly in her left hand while she quickly drew Peleta's dagger from the small sheath at her side.  Thinking her completely grief stricken, the guard captain let her guard drop and went in to grab Lyra's shoulder to arrest her.  A mistake she quickly and dearly paid for.  Rage.  Pure and utter rage.  That was what the guard captain saw in Lyra's eyes as she felt the small blade go completely through her own neck and back out again.  Lyra then kicked her dying body into the mass of sisters nearby and ran towards the back of the auditorium.  The Queen had witnessed the impossible not just once today, but twice.  She would not see it again.  She yelled out orders to kill Lyra.  She would pay for slaying both of her sisters.  All the guards drew their swords, but the back of the auditorium was lightly guarded as most of the guard had been drawn to the front to protect the Queen.  Arrows flew past Lyra and stuck into the wood where it found it and bounced off the marble walls in front of her.  She even felt one arrow scratch her thigh as it flew by.  Lyra then dropped to the ground, partly out of pain and in part to slide and avoid more arrows.  She slid and hit the short granite wall and unceremoniously rolled down the stairs until she was laying on the ground at the base of the long curving staircase that led up to the largest building on the entire island.  As she stood up she heard the guards yelling and she knew more arrows would be coming her way unless she moved quickly.  She ran faster and harder than she ever had before towards the cliffs nearby.  She was no longer thinking, she was reacting purely on instincts.  She stopped short of the edge and looked down at the water below her.  The tides were starting to move out for the evening and if she survived the fall, she could use that to aid her escape.  She had no idea where to go, but staying here was not an option if she wished to live to see tomorrow.  She quickly paced back and forth trying to decide if she would prefer to die fighting or die from a fall.  A decision that was made for her when she saw the guards approaching.  No amazon had ever killed another, and she had no idea what punishments the Queen might devise for her.  She turned her back to the approaching swarm of righteously angered amazons and placed she scarf up to her nose and inhaled deeply.  It still smelled of the lavender and perfume that Peleta wore daily.  "If the gods are kind, I will see you soon my love."  Lyra whispered to herself as she jumped to dive to the waters below.  She flew through the air feeling almost weightless after jumping as high and as far as she could.  She was more surprised than anything when she hit the water and did not die.  She surfaced and looked back up to the cliff in time to see an entire double firing line release their arrows down toward her.  Diving to avoid them, she swam further away but felt one pierce her left shoulder which caused her to gasp and grab the wound.  On the surface the Queen stood in front of the archers and watched as the air bubbles and motion of the water stilled where they had last seen her.  Stoic and silent all the amazons stood waiting as long as they though the traitor could survive under water.  Satisfied that she had died, the Queen said in a solemn yet stern voice, "May Neptune torment you before Hades takes you."  Satisfied the Amazons left the cliff face and returned to see to their dead.

Lyra woke several hours later gently floating in the waters, no land in sight and no light save the setting moon and stars above her.  A partial arrow protruded from her left shoulder.  She went to grab it but felt the dagger she had been clinging to nearly slip out of her fingers to be lost to Neptune's deep.  She tightened her grip on the handle to keep from dropping it.  She fought through the pain of moving her left arm to wrap Peleta's scarf around the blade handle before placing the combined items in her mouth as a makeshift bit to bite down on as she pulled the full length of the arrow through her shoulder.  Grunting and exclaiming in pain she yelled out almost passing out.  Her blood flowed more freely from the open agitated wound and she closed her eyes almost accepting her fate.  To die alone.  A traitor and the murderer of the only woman that she ever truly loved.  Her eyes were closed and her brow furrowed.  It wasn't her doing that led to Peleta's death.  It was their dogma.  Their archaich belief of their supposed role in the world.  And it was the Queen's complete unwillingness to accept any ideas that would challenge HER rule.  Peleta.  Sweet, loving Peleta would still be alive if it wasn't for those insane ancient beliefs.  The amazons were a more perfect being.  They should rule.  They should be the warriors they were meant to be.  These were the thoughts that filled Lyra's soul.  If only there was some way, she would take revenge on the Queen and show her sisters the truth that she knew.  A truth they would never open their eyes to if she died there in the water.  Her eyes sprung open when she felt something similar to fingers running across her shoulders and over her chest leading up to her neck.  She saw water creeping its way up over her and rushing towards her wound.  She called out to Neptune thanking him for saving her.  As soon as she uttered his name, the fingers of water around her neck tightened and began choking her.  She realized she had gained the attention of the wrong deity.  "Ares, my lord.  Forgive me."  She gasped out.  Only he was so quick to anger and to punish.  The water released its grip of her neck and flowed up onto her chest, pooling in a stack of water, held together in an impossible way.  Her wound had healed completely and the water formed itself into the shape of a crown.  She reached out to place the impossible crown onto her head but as soon as it touched her hair it turned to water, rushing down back into the sea only to reform as a crown once more before disappearing.  Confused by this, Lyra let herself lie back in the water to rest and contemplate the meaning of what her god Ares had told her.

She woke the following morning and saw a giant white ship nearby.  She swam toward the ship hoping to commandeer the vessel.  She found a metal ladder near the rear of the ship and slowly and quietly snuck on board.  She saw a man with his back to her and she sprung up behind him and like a whisper on the wind, she twisted his head so hard his neck made only the slightest crack before she tossed his corpse into the sea.  The next man saw her before his demise and yelled out alerting the others.  She soon found herself surrounded by men in black suits, all aiming guns at her.  One fired near her and grazed her arm.  While it was faster and more forceful than any arrow fashioned by amazon hands, the metal was far inferior and did not even scratch her skin.  She grinned as she noticed this and the men also became uneasy.  "Which one of you is in charge here?  Which one of you should I kill first?" Lyra asked with a sneering grin on her face.  One of the security men called out requesting orders and just then a man came forth from the bottom of the boat.  He was fair skinned, bald with a strong, dark goatee.  His mere presence made the other, more physically impressive men seem to pale slightly in comparison.  He had something about him, whether it be confidence, arrogance, or something more.  His presence was in command of the situation.  "I am in charge here, and by the looks of things, you have already killed two of my men."  The robed man said.  He leaned over the side of the vessel and saw the bodies of two men floating away behind the ship.  "Hmm.  Very interesting."  Lyra was confused by his apparent apathy.  "Who are you?  Are you their leader?" Lyra asked quickly.  The man's eyebrow raised.  "Wait, you mean you don't know who I am?"  Lyra chuckled.  "A man.  An arrogant one at that."  This quip even made him grin.  "My name is Joseph King."  Lyra's eyes grew wide.  KingCrownWas this what Ares meant?  Was she to find and work with...a man?  She almost grew ill at the thought but then remembered that mankind was Ares' most favored of creation.  It was they who were paramount when it came to war.  And war was exactly what she wanted.  War against the Amazons that took her beloved from her.  He continued.  "I am, quite frankly, the king of this entire planet.  Not by birthright, nor by political position, but by persuasion, infiltration and control.  It is my company.  My inventions.  My...NAME.  That is branded on this world."  Lyra tracked his movement as he paced confidently across the deck of the ship, almost uncaring of the tense and violent situation inches away from him.  "And these men are my "protection".  The best in the world if you are to believe their training.  And you have already killed two of them."  Lyra looked around as the remaining men crept closer to her.  "Which makes me believe that they are not exactly what I pay them to for."  King stopped and smiled.  He turned to face Lyra and walked between two guards and stood tall in front of the soaking wet woman before him.  He was either unaware of how dangerous she was or he just didn't care.  "I pay for the best, and I expect the best.  Yet I seem to have only received the SECOND best."  King placed his finger under Lyra's chin and pulled her head upward making her focus her full attention on his eyes.  An insult she so desperately wanted to kill him for had it not been for Ares' vision.  "I have an idea.  A most wonderful idea.  I would be willing to pay you everything I pay them...combined...if you want the job."  Lyra frowned and clinched her teeth.  "I will serve no man.  I am an Amazon warrior and have no use for baubles and coin from the world of man!"  King raised an eyebrow and stepped back, between the lines of security trained on her still.  "I can provide much more than 'coin' my dear."  "Like what?" Lyra retorted.  "Whatever your heart desires.  I can..."  King paused and rethought his next sentence.  "I WILL give you whatever you want, so long as you stay by my side, kill anyone who opposes me and work WITH ME toward my goal.  In turn, you WILL have EVERYTHING you want."  Lyra glared at him.  This man.  This...King.  "And what must I do to earn this position of trust and power?"  King smiled knowing he had won her over.  He turned his back toward the group and started to walk down the stairs returning to his private quarters.  "Seeing as I already have security, there needs to be a vacancy..."  the men started to waiver slightly fearing his next words while Lyra's heart started to race at the excitement of what they all knew was coming.

"Kill them."

Lyra sprang into action gleefully.  Never before had combat been so sweet, so enthralling, and so enjoyable.  It was like fighting kittens.  Their bones broke so easily and their weapons while making an impact, could not truly harm her.  She started to take her time.  This wasn't combat.  This was sport.  After torturing and killing all the remaining men, she went down to the cabin where King was sitting behind a desk covered in monitors and paperwork.  She looked over and saw three women, all naked sleeping together on the bed.  King smiled as he tossed a tablet down on the desk.  "Congratulations.  Miss..."

"Lyra."

"Welcome aboard Lyra."  He extended his hand.

She took his hand in hers and firmly shook it.  "My King." She gently nodded her head in respect.

"Oh yes.  Yes.  This will do quite nicely.  You and I." King said with a knowing smile.

Excellent bio for Lyra.Clap  I look forward to see more images for Lyra.

I want to ask you something about Lyra.
Why Lyra
dislikes so much the humans? Indeed, for some humans they do not deserve to live for their atrocities they did to others, but why she want to harm and the innocents? For a pure blood Hellenic Amazon warior to harm an innocent and undefended person it is great dishonor for her.

PS: The image seems nice but it is very small and the
Resolution does not look very clear:( (Sad) .
Can you please make this image
Resolution bigger to look more clear?
